Checking the final version of the document for mistakes including spelling, grammar or punctuation or any other glaring errors that would be detrimental or costly to leave. At this stage, significant changes should not be introduced- however, should the document need this level of attention, it should probably be copy-edited first.
Proofreading can be done on-screen or in hard copy.
Copy-editing
This involves taking a closer look at the text, suggesting changes to wording, formatting or style. The intention is to improve how the document reads and can involve re-writing, fact checking, figures, tables and illustrations, and marking up the text for layout.
Copy-editing can also include web page editing.
Miscellaneous
CV updating/re-writing:
You may have an existing CV which needs updating to create impact, or maybe you have never written a CV before but you need one—fast. Either of these can be achieved.
Word processing:
You may have a hard copy of some work which needs inputting on to a computer file or disc. Or perhaps you have some (legible) handwritten notes which need to be typed up.
